JEROME ST-MICHEL
CLIMBING WITH INFINITE MOTIVATION
MEET THE ATHLETE
Jerome, AKA “The Technician,” is a trad and ice climber motivated by complex and committing routes. Beneath his intimidating moustache and piercing gaze is a fiery passion that motivates him to continue his intense training for his ever more difficult and wild goals. However, it is his humility and generosity in sharing his experience that makes him an intriguing character that you want to get to know.
He is known for his spectacular climbs in Quebec, such as the first ascent of “Fun with a Gun 5.13b R,” a former A3 aid route at Weir. He also managed the 6th ascent of La Zébrée (5.14a) at Mont-King in Val David as well as the impressive 6-day free ascent of Les Grand Galets (5.12d), a classic 350m multi-pitch route perched above the Saguenay Fjord.
If you are looking for Jérôme on a chilly Friday night, you might find him rope-soloing on a wall looking for the micro-foot beta that will make his new project feasible.
